- Input Ports:
- VGA: 1 x VGA (DB15 female) for video input from PC/laptop.
- Audio: 1 x 3.5mm stereo audio jack (or sometimes RCA L/R) for audio input from the PC/laptop. (VGA carries no audio, so audio must be provided separately).
- Output Ports:
- Composite Video (AV/RCA): 1 x RCA (Yellow) for video output.
- S-Video: 1 x Mini-DIN 4-pin for S-Video output (often included as an alternative to composite for slightly better quality).
- Audio: 2 x RCA (Red/White) for stereo audio output (to connect to TV’s audio input).
- Supported VGA Input Resolutions (Common Examples):
- 640×480 @ 60/72/75/85Hz
- 800×600 @ 60/75Hz
- 1024×768 @ 60/75Hz
- 1280×720 @ 60Hz (often downscaled to 480p/576p interlaced)
- 1280×768 @ 60Hz
- 1280×1024 @ 60Hz
- 1360×768 @ 60Hz
- 1440×900 @ 60Hz
- 1600×1200 @ 60Hz
- 1920×1080 @ 60Hz (often the highest input resolution supported, which is then heavily downscaled).
- Output Video Standards:
- NTSC (National Television System Committee – common in North America, Japan, etc. – 480i)
- PAL (Phase Alternating Line – common in Europe, parts of Asia, etc. – 576i)
- SECAM (Sequential Couleur à Mémoire – less common, but some converters might support it).
- Often, there’s a switch or button to select between NTSC and PAL.
